RM PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATES LOHRI WITH GREAT FERVOR

Jammu, 11 January 2025: RM Public School, a premier educational institution, celebrated the harvest festival of Lohri with great enthusiasm and fervor. The event brought together students, teachers, and staff to revel in the rich cultural heritage of Punjab.

The celebrations commenced with the traditional lighting of the bonfire, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. Students, dressed in vibrant traditional attire, sang folk songs and danced around the bonfire, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The highlight of the event was the spectacular display of dances, including Gidda and Bhangra, performed by the students. Their energetic and synchronized movements left the attendees mesmerized.

In addition to the cultural performances, students also participated in a kite-flying competition on the eve of Lohri and Makar Sankranti. Udyaveer Singh of Grade 11 (Arts) showcased exceptional flying skills and was awarded first prize amidst cheers and applause.

The event was graced by the presence of special guests: Director Pushap Vatika, Mr. Rasheek Mengi, Ms. Akanksha Gupta, and Mr. Sanjay Gupta, renowned chartered accountants. They addressed the gathering, sharing insights into the significance of Lohri and the importance of preserving cultural heritage.

The Chairman of the school, Sh. Rameshwar Mengi, Director Mr. Rakshan Mengi, Vice Principal Dr. Harvinder Kour, and Administrator Sh. Surinder Singh congratulated everyone on the grand success of the Lohri function. They appreciated the efforts of the students, teachers, and staff in making the event a memorable one.

“We are proud to celebrate our cultural heritage and provide our students with a platform to showcase their talents,” said Chairman Sh. Rameshwar Mengi ji. “Lohri is a celebration of life, hope, and renewal, and we are thrilled to share this experience with our students and staff.”
