R.M. Public School Organizes Enriching Visit to Purmandal – “Chhota Kashi”
17th December, 2024 – R.M. Public School recently organized an educational and spiritual visit to the Purmandal Temple, popularly known as “Chhota Kashi,” for its students. This initiative aimed to blend cultural exposure, historical learning, and spiritual awareness, creating a unique experience for the young minds.
Nestled along the banks of the Devika River, Purmandal holds immense significance as a sacred site that reflects the essence of Kashi (Varanasi) in Jammu. The visit provided students with a rare opportunity to explore the rich cultural and spiritual heritage associated with the temple. Teachers and guides shared fascinating tales about its history, architecture, and the importance of the Devika River, often referred to as the “Gupt Ganga.”
The students not only witnessed the beautiful temple structures but also learned about the profound values of peace, devotion, and environmental preservation. It was an engaging experience where education met exploration, enabling the students to understand the traditions that are rooted in their land.
Worthy Chairman Sh. Rameshwar Mengi, Director Sh. Rakshan Mengi, Vice Principal Dr. Harvinder kour and Administrator Sh. Surinder Singh appreciated and motivated students to participate in such events and opportunities provided by the school . A student enthusiastically shared, “I had no idea such a beautiful place with so much history existed so close to us. It was like stepping back in time!”
